30 years of Patricio Travel

The company has its roots in Tennis- und Golfreisen Riedl (TGR Reisen). This is where the first trips to Hungary, Tunisia and Spain were organised. The predecessor TGR Reisen was transferred to Patricio Travel GmbH when it was founded on 6 June 1996.

Patricio Travel then started with the vision of making sports trips something special – with professional training opportunities and a genuine passion for sport. This laid the foundation for Patricio's success story.

Our close partnership with Ali Bey began in 1997. What started with six exclusive tennis courts at the former Ali Bey Club Belek has developed over the years into our most important partnership. With Club Manavgat and Resort Sorgun, this partnership has continued to grow.

Today, Ali Bey is our most important and longest-standing partner – for 29 years now. We hold our camps, tournaments and events on currently 130 tennis courts here, creating unique conditions for tennis at the highest level year after year.

With the founding of the Patricio Checkpoint Tennis Academy, we took a decisive step: our own tennis school right in the hotel – professional, personal and perfectly tailored to our guests.

This gave rise to our principle of success, which continues to shape us today: operating sports facilities and tennis schools under our own management in order to guarantee the best training conditions and the highest quality.

In 2003, we hosted the first international senior tournaments – a milestone that made us famous worldwide. Up to 750 players from over 30 countries travelled to be part of this week-long event.

Legendary exhibition matches, featuring Stefan Edberg, Jonas Björkman and Henri Leconte, among others, made the tournaments one of the most popular meeting places in international tennis.

With the increasing demand for fitness holidays, we expanded our range of services and integrated new sports worlds. From aerobics events to functional training, our portfolio grew continuously.

An annual highlight was the Aerobics & Fitness Weeks with boxing legend Regina Halmich, who redefined the fascination of fitness holidays for many guests with her boxing camp.

The first LK tournament and training weeks began in 2011 – and were an instant success. Players from all over Germany travelled to the event to earn valuable LK points (German ranking points).

Today, the LK weeks are among the largest tennis events of their kind. Numerous German regional associations, including the BTV, have relied on Patricio Travel as a strong, reliable partner for years.

In 2013, we suffered a severe blow: a massive flood completely destroyed our company headquarters in Obernzell, located directly on the banks of the Danube. It was a difficult moment for the entire company.

But giving up was never an option for us. Together, we rebuilt Patricio Travel – stronger, more modern and more determined than before.

In 2016, we celebrated our 20th anniversary together with long-standing partners, loyal guests, friends and numerous personalities from the world of tennis and fitness.

It was a celebration full of gratitude, memories and anticipation for everything that lies ahead – an emotional milestone in our journey.

Today, our portfolio includes 11 high-quality partner hotels in Croatia, Spain, Greece and on the Turkish Riviera – each with first-class sports facilities.

Over 250 racket courts are now available to our guests – an offering that is unrivalled in Europe and makes us the leading provider of tennis and fitness holidays.

With the new WORLD CLASS Racket & Fitness Clubs, we are taking the next big step in our company's history. Here, we are combining tennis, padel, pickleball and fitness with market leaders Fitness First, HYROX and Les Mills under one roof.

This allows us to offer more variety, new event formats and even more targeted sports trips for different target groups.
